Alameda County has a new program to help patients stay home to quarantine with coronavirus. The County is offering a $1,250 stipend program for people who have to self-isolate after a positive test. The county has set aside $10 million for the project, and will provide 7,500 stipends. Alameda County hopes that money will eventually be reimbursed by the state or federal governments. This stipend is for families who would suffer great economic impact of have to stop working due to contracting the virus. It is for people not receiving unemployment or paid sick leave. Clinics selected to make referrals include La Clinica de la Raza at 3451 East 12th St. and Roots Community Health Center at 9925 International Blvd. The others are the West Oakland Health Center at 700 Adeline St. in Oakland and the Tiburcio Vasquez Health Center, at its 22331 Mission Blvd. site in Hayward.
